Next-generation data and energy infrastructure platform for large-scale data centres and enabling infrastructure.
Global Interconnection Group (GIG) has acquired a 20% stake in GIGA Holdings and partnered with Northern DC AS (Scale-42) to form GIGA-42 Ltd., focusing on developing AI-optimised data centres across the Nordic region.
Through its subsidiary GIG Management Ltd., the company will manage "a long-term management contract to partner with GIGA-42 to advance a pipeline of projects across Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland." GIG leverages expertise in undersea cables and renewable energy infrastructure, citing the Atlantic Super Connection project between Iceland and the UK as a flagship example.
Scale-42, founded by former Hydrokraft leaders, brings over a decade of data centre development experience with a pipeline exceeding 1,000 MW of data centres across the Nordics.
GIGA-42 will integrate AI-optimised facilities with renewable energy generation, high-voltage grid connections, and subsea data cable connectivity. The venture aims to deliver sustainable digital infrastructure meeting global demand for resilient, high-performance data solutions.
